Michelle Tang is one of the country’s top tier hair & make-up artists. With over 20 years of diverse experience creating looks for celebrities, models, actors and performers of all types, she’s gained the reputation as a “fast, unique, hair & make-up artist.”

Michelle began her career in London working with top hairstylists at Sassoon, Rusk and Tony & Guy. She soon found herself rocking along side Boy George, Duran Duran & Spandau Ballet as both a hair and a make-up artist.

New York’s fashion scene beckoned, and shortly after arriving she was swooped up by agent, Judy Lane who also represented

Francesco Scavullo. Her innovative flare began pioneering trends across the nation with looks & styles for Elle, Spin, MTV and high-fashion advertising shoots.

After being MTV’s ‘Downtown’ Julie Brown’s make-up artist, Michelle began working/touring with music legends Joan Jett, Depeche Mode, Donna Summer and Billy Idol. For rock icon Billy Idol, Michelle’s own creative style helped in creating the still recognizable spiky, white hair look.

Music led to TV, which led to the niche position as a commercial hair and make-up artist. Now Michelle finds herself regularly working with directors like Phil Joanua, Mark Romaneck, Michael Cuesta, Michel Gondry, Martin Scorses and Marcus Nispel on creative and landmark commercials like Ipod, American Express, Coca Cola, Gatorade, Verizon and Monster.com.

Keeping her focus on commercials has rewarded her with the opportunity of working with a tremendous range of actors, athletes, celebrities and musicians from Robert DeNiro, Alec Baldwin, The White Stripes and Susan Sarandon to Venus Williams, Ben Wallace, Joe Torre and the young Christian rocker, Krystal Myers.

“Every day brings something new and I look forward to it.”
